Every other ranking mixed price and fame into how good a watch is. This one does not. You get a score out of 100, plus craft, mission fit, and vision beside it. Price stays off. Brand prestige stays off. Those three columns do not inflate the number.

    Tenue Score, out of 100. Movement, timing, case, how you wear it, and the crystal and dial. Price and fame stay off.

    35 points. How the calibre is built: winding, the work it does, reserve, height, the organ, robustness.

  • Timekeeping

    15 points. The rate claim, how it is regulated, and who actually checked it.

  • Case

    20 points. Construction, metal, water resistance, size, and a bezel insert when one is stated.

  • Wear and use

    15 points. Crown, bracelet or strap, clasp security, adjustment, and changing the strap.

  • Crystal and dial

    15 points. The crystal coating, luminous plots, the display, contrast, and how the dial is shared.

  • Craft

    0 to 20, beside the score. Hand-finishing when it is real. Never added.

  • Mission fit

    0 to 20, beside the score. How well the watch does the job its type asks for. Never added.
